I had my first follow-up with the surgeon’s office last Thursday, September 24, 2020. The Physician’s Assistant advised that I was ahead of schedule, and everything looked great. I am about 50 percent healed and can return to work part-time with a lifting restriction.
I had a second evaluation today, September 30, 2020, at Physical Therapy, and I am at 120 degrees of bend, in the range of motion test, but my strength is not where she wants it yet. So, I am to increase my activity, add to my strengthening exercises, and practice walking up and down the stairs properly. The goal is to be able to lift the PEMF machine into the bed of my truck and, also to be able to get on and off my horse safely and without extreme pain. The pain is limited to the lower insertion point of the IT band. We are working on that with stretches and massage. Physical Therapy will continue throughout October, so I will have another update on my knee replacement surgery at that time.
